This is a 10 year old bourbon from Michters distillery that comes from an Undisclosed source. I had this blind so keep that in mind reading my notes.
ABV: 47.2%
Nose: Strong Oak on the nose but not overwhelming, tobacco leaf, Vanilla, Black Pepper,
Palate: Medium oily mouthfeel, Black Pepper, Spice, Tobacco Leaf, Oak,
Finish: Long, Warm, Spice, Tobacco leaf, oak, black pepper, savory, vanilla
Rating: 7/10
Guess: This is good. Its savory, it has a nice spicy component that plays well with the oak and tobacco portion. The hints of vanilla help to keep this from being a little too one dimensional in terms of flavor, and this is a nice brash set of flavors (even more so since it is now chilly out)
I would guess this is a high-rye mashbill bourbon, 10-13 years old, and 52-55%. Wild Turkey Masterkeep Decades?
Reveal: Michter’s 10 year 2018, 47.2%
Off on the proof but good on the age, I was pleasantly surprised at how good this was. Wouldn’t mind a bottle but it’s retail and secondary prices are outside what I would pay based on having it, but I can see why so many people like it
