Review #205; Rum #8: Hampden Estate Overproof

This is an 8 year old blend of multiple Marques from Hampden Estate that has been aged in Jamaica.

ABV: 60%

Nose: Sweet Molasses, Rotting Tropical Fruits, Vegetation, Caramel, Funk

Palate: Thick, oily mouthfeel. Funky rotting fruits, bananas, pineapple, molasses, toasted brown sugar.

Finish: Medium Length, funky fruits, bananas, warm oak, vanilla, toasted brown sugar, and funk.

Rating: 7/10

I really dig the profile that is going on in here. Enough of a punch with the proof to get strong flavors across and leaving you with a nice warm coating of those funky, sweet, and savory flavors that blend well together. Something that I enjoyed very much, and that has me excited to have the DOK in my hands soon!
