Review #195; Scotch #60: Bunnahabhain PX 14yr

Bunnahabhain 14 Year Old PX Sherry Finish

This is a limited edition Bunna release. 14 years old and finished in PX barrels. It was aged for 11 years with the 3 years finish in PX casks. Lets see how this hyped up dram stands up.

ABV: 54.3%

Nose: Plums, Baking Spices, All Spice, Dark Chocolate, slight blueberry bitterness underneath.

Palate: Medium oily mouthfee, warm, toasted brown sugar, plums, all spice, nutmeg, tart berries, dark chocolate, creamy vanilla.

Finish: Medium Length, rich dried fruits, plums, baking spice, dark chocolate, with the vanilla fading out.

This is a fantastic, thick, full, and delicious dram. The “sweet” notes in it come across as savory, and the rich dark chocolate and plums note that this has create an amazingly balanced dram that I can see why people went crazy for this release.
