Review #182; American Whiskey #6: Barrell Craft Spirits 25yr American Whiskey

This is a 25 year sourced undisclosed whiskey (Indiana so we can assume MGP) with an undisclosed mashbill. It was finished in Sercial Madeira casks and bottled at Cask Strength.

ABV: 55.6%

Nose: Savory, Dark Chocolate, Grapes, buttery biscuit

Palate: medium mouthfeel, oily, savory, dark chocolate, Buttery Scone, underlying baking spices, nutmeg.

Finish: Baking Spices, oak, buttery scone, creamy Vanilla,

Rating: 7/10

This is one of the more interesting American whiskies I have tried. I wish I could get a hand on the undisclosed mashbill, but to me it reminds me of malted barley. This was fun to try but would be a bit expense for my taste at $250 a bottle.
