Review #137; Scotch #39: Springbank 12 CS (2018)

Background: This is a CS Offering from Spring Bank, matured in 70% Sherry casks and 30% Bourbon casks.

ABV: 56.2%

Nose: Plums, Ethanol, red berries, spicy funk, and vanilla.

Palate: Thick, oily, and full mouthfeel. Smoked meats, salt, creamy vanilla, plums, oak, spicy funk.

Finish: Medium longish, dry and warm. bbq, brine, vanilla, and red berries, funk

This is a tasty, balanced dram that I want a full bottle of. The flavors marry well together and I need to find what this “funk” is but it’s great. A bit of heat lingers but overall quite good.
