Background: This single cask of Bruichladdich comes to us from Independent bottler Signatory Vintage. This single malt has been aged for 26 years in a sherry butt before being bottled at cask strength with no additives and was non-chill filtered.
ABV: 56%
Nose: Gingerbred baked spiced sweetness, muted sherry not as much as you’d expect for 26 years, figs, cherries, tart blueberries, vanilla cream well balanced and interesting.
Palate: Medium oily, Sherry, figs, muted fruits, tartness, vanilla cream, oak, slight cinnamon. Drinks right about its proof.
Finish: Medium length, baking spices, sherry, figs, oak. Dry finish
Interesting and deep. Lots of good flavors in this that blend well together and come open after more air time over the month and a half I’ve had this bottle open.
