Review #75; Bourbon #40: Old Forester 1897

Background: This is a bottled in bond whiskey from Brown-Forman. This was reviewed blind then I was revealed the bottle so keep that in mind

ABV: 50%

Nose: Ethanol, acetone, Banana, caramel, oak,

Palate: Acetone, ethanol, tannins. All low level heat and these flavors.

Finish: Too long. Acetone and tannins. No flavor here at all.

3 sips in and I won’t take another. All harsh ethanol, tannins, and some oak.

Rating: 1/10

Guess: OF 1910

Reveal: OF 1897

Wrong again. Well this blind series was eye opening to me. I would have thought I would have enjoyed the 1920 (I have a bottle and it is pretty full). I trust blind reviews by myself the most as a barometer for what I like and I encourage everyone to try things blind if they can.

Thanks for reading!
