Review #63; Bourbon #32: Belle Meade Cask Strength Reserve 12 yr Orland Whiskey Society Select

Background: This Bourbon comes to us from Belle Meade who sourced it from MGP. This 12 year old bourbon was selected and bottled for the Orland Whiskey Society. I had this blind so keep that in mind while reading my notes.

Nose: Strong Caramel, Oak, butterscotch, spices, black pepper, honey hint, sweeter spices underneath.

Palate: Medium/Thick. Butterscotch, vanilla forward. Begins as a very sweet turns into a sweet burnt brown sugar and oak. Pepper and other spices.

Finish: Dry, oak, spices, pepper, leather.

This is a good mix of the sweeter side of bourbon with the more oak and dry finish. I could sip on this all day and would not mind a bottle.

 Rating: 7/10

Guess: Elijah Craig store pick.

Reveal: Belle Meade Cask Strength reserve 12 year single barrel 5 star / Orlando whiskey society pick Way off but this was some good MGP sourced bourbon.
