Review #52; Scotch #8: Longrow 11 Red Australian Shiraz Cask

Background: This is a bottling from the Springbank Distillery as part of their Red series. This was aged for 11 years and is a mix of refill bourbon hogsheads then aged for 5 years in Australian Shiraz Hogshead. 

ABV: 53.7%

Nose: Warm peat, Sweet Caramel, Grapes, Sweet light fruits, hint of baking spices, well balanced.

Palate: Peaty, burnt sugar, spices, grapes, hint of smoke on the end.

Finish: Medium Legnth, dry, peaty, caramel and vanilla.
Sweet, well balanced, and easy to drink.

Rating: 7/10

1 | Disgusting | So bad I poured it out.

2 | Poor | I wouldn’t consume by choice.

3 | Bad | Multiple flaws.

4 | Sub-par | Not bad, but better exists.

5 | Good | Good, just fine.

6 | Very Good | A cut above.

7 | Great | Well above average

8 | Excellent | Really quite exceptional.
