Background: This is a limited edition release from 4Roses. It is a blend of 4 of their mashbills;
10 Year OBSV
13 Year OBSF
14 Year OESV
And 16 Year OESK
ABV: 54.2%
Some local friends and I split this bottle between so we could try it.
Nose: Very sweet fruits, honey, berrys, rye spice, green apple, vanilla,
Palate: Thick, oily well balanced. Green apple, honey, vanilla, burnt sugar, rye and oak. Well balanced not too hot.
Finish: Long, rye spice, green apple, oak and creamy vanilla that lingers.
Of the bourbons I have reviewed this is my favorite at this point. It is different from all the others, very fruity and sweet while still having enough of that 4Roses rye spice I like. Perfectly balanced and complex, I would buy a bottle at retail if I could.
